News bulletin and South Schedule Revisions

Susie handed out a news bulletin at our Nov 19 practice along with a corrected schedule. Here are a few highlights:
  • The website South Stingers schedule has been updated. We're at Columbia through Dec 10. Dec 17th we're at the new MN Made arena (North, Dome and South), usually around the noon hour.
  • The jerseys will be out around the first of the year -- they're pretty fancy.
  • Games will start in mid-January. We'll alternate arenas.
  • Susie needs a parent manager for each team. This person will be responsible for communications to their team, helping with the year end party, etc. Please talk to your coach if you might be interested.
  • MN special hockey now has an elected board and is moving towards becoming a non-profit 501c3 company.

No hockey on Nov 26 (thanksgiving weekend)

MN Special Hockey won't meet on Sunday November 26th (Thanksgiving weekend).

The current online schedule is not correct for the South Stingers. It appears we will again be at the Columbia on 12/3/06 and possibly beyond. I'll update this post when I learn more tonight.

Wild Assists Ticket Program - Minnesota Wild

A friend told me about this Wild program. I wonder if we could get MN Special Hockey on the list to receive donated tickets? It's probably a long list, but it seems like your players would be good candidates. I'll ask Susie about this.
Wild Assists Ticket Program - Minnesota Wild

Wild Assists is a ticket donation program used to get unused tickets into the hands of deserving children and charities. Fans with at least two tickets can either send or drop off unused tickets to the Minnesota Wild Corporate offices 48 hours before the game to ensure that they can be distributed to a local charity.

Each season, tickets are given to many deserving organizations, including: Children’s Hospitals and Clinics, Boys and Girls Clubs, Salvation Army, Gillette Children’s Hospital, and numerous other charitable groups.

For information on how to donate your tickets to Wild Assists, please call 651-602-6000.

You may either mail or drop off your tickets at the following address:

First practice and still recruiting!

Our first 2006 practice was a terrific success for my family. My 'A Team' veteran (Tim) from last year and my new 'B Team' novice (Ben - learning to skate) were both tired, happy and proud. Ben's aide, Uma, was gracious and encouraging; he pushed hard to please her.

We've got a good set of players, but we are still accepting new skaters and would-be skaters, if you know of someone who might want to join us they can contact Susie Miller at smiller@ci.edina.mn.us or 612-325-3392. The main web site also has registration forms and information.
