Hearing impaired girls hockey camp

We all know about special hockey and sled hockey, but there's also hearing impaired hockey. They are based in Chicago and run a hockey camp there. This year they're adding an all-girls team to the current boys and girls teams. We were asked to promote this request for girls teams players (I've edited the email to remove identifiers since this is a public site) ....

Subject: Deaf hockey players

Good afternoon,

My name is Jennie C and I am an interpreter for the American Hearing Impaired Hockey Association (AHIHA). Our organization hosts an annual hockey camp in Chicago designed exclusively for deaf and hard of hearing players, the only camp of its kind. This year we are putting together an all-girls team, for girls over the age of 14. We are looking for more girls for the team, especially a goalie, who can compete at a high school-level of play.

If any of you know of any girls who are deaf and hard of hearing that might be interested, please ask them to contact me as soon as possible. Our camp runs from June 13-20, 2010, near Chicago, Illinois.

Thank you very much for your time, I hope you will be able to help us out.

Jennie C
AHIHA Interpreter

The camp is actually for boys and girls and is held in Chicago, not Minnesota.

Jennie,

I looked again; it seems clear that the camp is in Chicago. Is there something I should change?

I know the camp is for boys and girls, but we were asked to focus on the needs of new girls team. I'll add a comment to that effect thought.

I initially saw the link on a "tweet" from the Special Hockey Association, who listed it as a Minnesota camp. Thanks for clarifying! Also, thank you for helping spread the word!
